“May He grant your heart’s desires and make all your plans succeed.”
Psalm 20:4 (NLT)
“I don’t want to be 80 years old paying off our mortgage.”
Looking over our mortgage statement, this thought just popped up. I thought I was just thinking it, but I realized I was verbalizing it. I repeated it again, slowly, deliberately, aloud. I breathed in and out, then continued looking through the rest of our bills. That was June 2021. I was 71 years old.
Fast forward to today, April 27, 2022….
Looking over paperwork to file. Mortgage Paid in Full. By the grace of God, we paid off our mortgage on February 17, 2022, a day before my 72nd birthday. Eight years early. If anyone asked me how we did it; I would not have an answer. We did not win the lottery nor a lawsuit. All I know is I had a thought, put it in the universe…gave it to God and it happened. I was able to pay extra “principal only” payments until it was paid in full.
Why am I sharing this?
Not to brag. But, to share the goodness of God. Ask big. God is a good God. If He, did it for us, He can do it for you. Give Him your concerns. Then, leave it to Him. Trust Him to work it out His way. Have all my thoughts/wants materialized? No. But this one did. And I am so very thankful.
Dear God, thank You so much for caring about everything that concerns me. Continue to show me how to lean into You completely trusting that nothing I ask is too big for you. And most importantly to remember You hear my thoughts, my whispers and You bless me above and beyond. You are, indeed, a good, good God.
